An adventurous girl has to travel to the past to prevent the assassination of a diplomat whose death sparks an all out war. Set in the Victorian era, a masquerade gala is being held to reaffirm the peace treaty between the world’s superpowers. On the night of the gala, one of the most prominent diplomats is murdered by an unknown assailant. This act of violence causes a chain reaction that ultimately leads to the dissolution of the peace treaty and an all-out war breaking out. Fast forward to 15 years in the future and the effects of the war are prevalent. What remains is a scorched earth void of natural resources, the nuclear fallout rendering the surface near uninhabitable. In this barren landscape, our protagonist is on the bottom rung of society, barely making ends meet to support herself and her sickly mother. One day, while scavenging for scraps in a junkyard, she comes across a time machine that sends her back to the night of the gala....
